We all hear about football injuries over the offseason, in training camp and in the preseason.

In the NFL, it’s almost the norm.

One of the injury stories that has lingered throughout the offseason has been the one involving Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. People weren’t exactly sure what the issue was with Luck. There were stories about it being his ankle and there were others about it involving his calf.

Regardless, you can put the questioning aside as to the exact injury.

On Saturday night, it was reported that Luck will be retiring from the NFL:

This comes as a shock to everyone. The last we heard, the Colts weren’t sure if Luck would be healthy enough to make it back in time for Week 1. OK, not great, but, it is what it is. Get your franchise QB back and healthy when he feels he is going to be alright.

Apparently, he was never going to come back and play an NFL game feeling “alright.” His time is reportedly over in the NFL.

Luck played for the Colts from 2012-18. He has thrown for 23,671 yards, 171 TD and 83 INT. He was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Stanford.
