Kendrick Norton, a member of the Miami Dolphins and former star with the University of Miami Hurricanes, reportedly had his arm amputated following a serious car accident.
TMZ Sports reported that Norton was in a vehicle accident in the early hours of Thursday morning, when he was involved in a two-car accident according to the report, his arm was pinned under his truck.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport later confirmed the report, saying Norton had to have his arm amputated following the accident. Per the Sun-Sentinel, Norton is still in the hospital in critical condition, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Miami Dolphins issued a statement via Twitter after hearing of the news.
We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time.

Norton, 22, was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was signed by the Dolphins in December 2018 off Carolina’s practice squad.
