Report: ESPN closing in on deal with Hall of Fame QB, big-name broadcaster, for Monday Night Football lead analyst

ESPN is reportedly in the process to land a big-name broadcaster for the lead analyst role on Monday Night Football.
According to a report from Andrew Marchand with the New York Post, ESPN is “deep in negotiations” with Troy Aikman for the key role for MNF. Aikman is currently a prominent broadcaster for FOX Sports.
Marchand also reported that Aikman had been courted by Amazon. Marchand has since tweeted that Aikman’s deal at ESPN is set to be for 5 years.
Determining who would pair with Aikman would be the next piece of the puzzle should he join ESPN. Aikman was traditionally the broadcast partner of Joe Buck while with FOX.
Aikman has had a long and successful run while at FOX, calling 6 Super Bowls during his time there.
