FOX is making an effort to get more viewers to its network during the college football season in 2019.

Monday, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that FOX plans to air its best college football game of the week at noon every Saturday throughout the 2019 season. That’s an entirely different approach than other networks — particularly ABC and ESPN  which tend to air the top matchups in the evening slot.

This fall, FOX plans to launch its new college football pregame show, with Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Brady Quinn and Urban Meyer named as some of the talent for the program. The network is hoping to rival ESPN’s College GameDay.

By starting the pregame show and immediately airing the top game of the weekend afterward, the hope is to draw more viewers to the network during the time slot in which some of the least interesting matchups of the week are played.

Since the B1G has a lucrative deal with FOX, this likely means that several prime B1G matchups will be aired in that noon slot in 2019, though a television schedule hasn’t been provided yet. FOX also airs games from the Big 12 and Pac-12.
