Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead in a Florida hotel room on Monday, Feb. 15. He was 38.
According to a report from ESPN, the Hillsborough Country Sheriff’s Office in Florida is investigating Jackson’s death. He was found at the Homewood Suites in Brandon, Florida. There were no apparent signs of trauma, per the report.
Jackson’s family reported him missing on Wednesday and a formal report was filed on Thursday.
Jackson was a member of the San Diego Chargers from 2005-11 and then finished his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012-16. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2009, 2011, 2012) during his career. In 12 seasons in the league, Jackson totaled 540 catches for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns.
Before his NFL career, Jackson played college football at Northern Colorado. He was a 2nd-round selection in the 2005 NFL Draft.
