Even for 2020, this is an odd story.

Temple’s game against East Carolina has been delayed because a player had to be tested for COVID-19 at a local hospital. The game was scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. ET but will now kick off at 12:50 p.m. ET.

According to Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, a Temple player’s girlfriend tested positive this morning.

That triggered an antigen test for the player, which reportedly came back positive according to McMurphy. The game will still be played, but with a number of Temple players out due to contact tracing.

There were 18 games canceled or postponed in college football this week due to COVID-19.

Temple and East Carolina both only have one win so far this season.
