A College GameDay icon will not be on the live set this Saturday, as ESPN’s popular pregame show makes the trip to Winston-Salem for an ACC showdown between No. 1 Clemson and Wake Forest.
Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported that Corso won’t be in attendance for the live show this weekend — GameDay’s first campus visit of the 2020 season. Corso will still be part of the show, though he’ll be doing so from his home in Orlando, Florida.
Last week, College GameDay was done remotely, with production happening at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.
Corso is also expected to make his famous headgear pick, even if it means doing so from home. Whether or not he was able to get access to an authentic mascot head for the show’s final selection is uncertain.
Top-ranked Clemson and Wake Forest are set to go head to head at 7:30 p.m. ET with the game airing on ABC. The Tigers are a 33-point favorite entering the game.
