Multiple outlets are reporting that the B1G college football season has been postponed. The league will attempt to operate in the spring instead.

Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports first reported the news, followed by Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated. The announcement came on Tuesday, after it was reported that school presidents met to discuss the outlook of fall sports for the 2020 season.

It was originally reported that the B1G opted to cancel football for the fall on Monday. However, a B1G spokesperson said there had been no decision and no vote on the season at that time.

The B1G becomes the first Power 5 conference to make the move. The MAC was the first FBS conference to make the call, followed by the Mountain West Conference.

An official announcement from the B1G is expected to come Tuesday afternoon.
