If you were dreaming of watching your school play its bowl game in Chicago’s Wrigley Field in the near future, time to put those dreams on hold.

While the idea was a great one, it appears negotiations have broken down between the Big Ten and the Cubs. According to Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs desire to host a marquee Big Ten team in any potential bowl games. While the Big Ten is more interested in sending its marquee teams to warm weather destinations.

The first potential bowl game at Wrigley Field was set to played following the 2020 regular season but those plans appear to be on hold for now.
