Report: New York City basketball event set to feature Purdue, Penn State in non-conference games
Two B1G basketball teams will be headed to New York City next December.
CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported on Thursday that a New York City basketball event will host Purdue and Penn State on Dec. 13, 2020, and both will play non-conference opponents. The name of the event was not mention in Rothstein’s tweet.
According to the report, Purdue will play West Virginia while Penn State will square off with Florida. A tip-off time for the games was not mentioned.

Purdue finished the 2019-2020 season with a 16-15 record and a 9-11 mark in B1G play. The Boilermakers finished 10th in the conference standings and were hoping to make a push for the NCAA Tournament in the B1G Tournament last weekend.
Penn State had an excellent year with a 21-10 record and an 11-9 record in conference play. The Nittany Lions were at one time a threat to win the B1G regular season title, but lost its final three games of the season, and dropped five of the final six games.
West Virginia ended the year with a 21-10 mark and Florida was 19-12.
