According to Ross Dellenger with Sports Illustrated, USC and LSU have agreed to a season-opening matchup in 2024. That contest will be played on Labor Day weekend that year at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The timing of the agreement is odd, to say the least. The Pac-12, ACC, and B1G announced their Alliance on Tuesday that is expected to play a major role in scheduling between the 3 conferences in the future.
It should be noted that a lot of specifics are yet to be addressed by the Alliance, including when – and how – future matchups will be added to the schedule. Either way, this is definitely an odd look coming off of Tuesday’s announcement.
