Oregon’s offensive coordinator is recovering in a Bay Area hospital after a “medical emergency” on Saturday.

Joe Moorhead remains in the hospital after a “non-COVID related” medical issue and subsequent surgery, according to John Canzano of The Oregonian. The school hasn’t released much more information.

Moorhead is in his 2nd season as Oregon’s OC after serving as the head coach at Mississippi State from 2018-19. He was Penn State’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2016-17 before taking the job at Mississippi State.

The Ducks are coming off a 31-24 upset loss to Stanford in overtime last week, which dropped them out of the top 5 of the AP Top 25. Oregon, now No. 8, is getting ready for a Friday night showdown with Cal at 10:30 p.m. ET.
