Charlie Strong’s run as the head coach at USF has come to an end.

Sunday, Dan Wolken of USA Today reported that USF will terminate Strong following a 4-8 season in Tampa. Strong just concluded his third season with the Bulls, and the team’s record declined each year.

USF was 21-16 under Strong appearing in bowl games in 2017 and 2018.

Strong’s first season with in 2017, and the Bulls finished the year 10-2 and defeated Texas Tech in the Birmingham Bowl. The following year, USF was 7-6, suffering a loss in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl to Marshall. This season marked the first time since 2014 the Bulls were not bowl eligible.

Strong is now 74-53 during three different coaching stops — Louisville (2010-13), Texas (2014-16) and USF (2017-19). He’s guided his teams to seven bowl games in his 10 seasons as a head coach.
