The B1G football season may have been postponed until spring, but a few states within the conference’s footprint will still see the sport played in the fall — for now.

With six conferences at the FBS level still pushing forward with a fall football season, there are five B1G states that still have schools preparing for the upcoming year. Those states include:

  • Indiana — Notre Dame (ACC)
  • Iowa — Iowa State (Big 12)
  • Maryland — Navy (AAC)
  • Ohio — Cincinnati (AAC)
  • Pennsylvania — Pitt (ACC), Temple (AAC)

The states in which there will be no football at the FBS level for the fall 2020 season are:

  • Illinois
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Nebraska
  • New Jersey
  • Wisconsin

As of Friday, four conferences at the FBS level have opted out of a fall season and will attempt again in the spring: MAC, Mountain West, B1G and Pac-12. There are six conference still moving ahead with a planned fall season: AAC, ACC, Big 12, C-USA, SEC and Sun Belt.

Changes could come at any point between now and the first scheduled kickoff.
