Robert Griffin III, Dan Mullen name their X factors for Ohio State and Michigan in CFP
Every team has X factors and key players that affect a team’s ability to win. During the College Football Playoff selection show, Dan Mullen and Robert Griffin III weighed in on who they would pick from Ohio State and Michigan, the 2 B1G teams to crack the field.
Ohio State will face off against Georgia in the Peach Bowl while Michigan will face off against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.
Here are their 2 X factors for both the Wolverines and Buckeyes.
- Robert Griffin III: “Ronnie Bell… they call this guy the junkyard dog. Need a big play, he’s going to make it for you. They have been astonished by his ability to make plays for them.”
- Dan Mullen: “Luke Schoonmaker. In the play-action pass, the guys that come open and make the plays are the TEs. Schoonmaker’s a guy with size and ability.”
- RGIII: “We don’t know who’s going to play, but we know who should and it’s Marvin Harrison Jr. As Ohio State’s leading receiver, he has to have a big day because your special players have to make special plays.”
- Dan Mullen: “Tommy Eichenberg. Has 112 tackles, 2.5 sacks, he is an old-school Ohio State LB… They’re going in, if you’re going to play a team like Georgia that wants to run the football and utilize TEs, your defense needs to step up and be led by LBs.”
