Sean Tucker is the leader in the clubhouse to land the award for “Most Ridiculous Touchdown” of the season.

Saturday, Syracuse was hosting Georgia Tech at the Carrier Dome in what is the third game of the season for both programs. In the first quarter, Tucker took a handoff through a gaping hole in the Yellow Jackets defense for a big first down gain. The play appeared to be over when a GT defender wrapped up the running back and rolled him onto the ground.

The problem? Tucker never actually hit the turf. The running back rolled over the Georgia Tech defender, got back to his feet and raced to the end zone. The score gave the Orange a 7-0 advantage.

Tucker was credited with a 38-yard touchdown run.

Syracuse got off to a strong start against Georgia Tech, which is huge after an 0-2 start to the season. The Orange have held an early 17-0 lead over the Yellow Jackets in the first half.

This week’s game marked just the second appearance of the season for Tucker. He entered the contest with 23 yards on 4 carries in 2020.
