Ryan Pellum was once thought to be an important recruit for the Oregon Ducks. The wide receiver out of Long Beach, CA, flipped his commitment from USC to Oregon in December 2023.

Now, after 1 season at Oregon, the WR will enter the transfer portal.

Most of Pellum’s playing time as a freshman with the Ducks came on special teams. The WR returned 1 punt and collected 1 tackle.

Pellum was rated as a 4-star recruit and the 247Sports Composite ranking had him as the No. 26 WR and No. 12 player out of California in the 2023 class. The California native starred for Millikan High School in Long Beach and played on offense as a WR and on defense as a cornerback.

The talented WR wasn’t able to crack the Oregon rotation during his freshman season and will now look to make his mark elsewhere. Pellum is the 8th Oregon player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Meanwhile, the team has brought in 6 players from the portal including tight end Jamari Johnson and defensive lineman Bear Alexander.

The Ducks’ 2024 season was ended in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff when the team fell to Oregon by a score of 41-21.
