The history of March Madness has a new giant slayer to add to the mix!

On Thursday, 15-seed Saint Peter’s did the unthinkable, sinking John Calipari and his 2-seed Kentucky squad in an overtime battle for the ages. The Peacocks forced overtime in part thanks to a huge late 3-pointer from Doug Edert.

In overtime, the Peacocks hit some clutch buckets, played great defense and nailed enough free-throws down the stretch for the win. Here is how the final seconds played out for the upset:

Off the bench, Edert was a key story for the Peacocks with 20 points on 5-for-7 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Daryl Banks III finished with a team-high 27 points while Saint Peter’s as a team finished 9-for-17 from 3-point range for the 85-79 win.
