An accident involving a car and a scooter may require TCU kicker Cole Bunce to miss the entire 2019 season, according to a report from the Dallas Morning News.

Bunce was reportedly riding a scooter when he was struck by a car earlier in the week. The accident was so serious that the kicker had to undergo emergency surgery because of his injuries.

“I don’t think he’ll be able to lay the rest of the year,” said TCU head coach Gary Patterson. “Some times you have luck and sometimes you have no luck at all.”

Bunce was expected to handle kickoff and field goal duties for the Horned Frogs this season. Last season, Bunce split time with Jonathan Song, making all 12 extra point attempts and converting on 4-of-9 field goals for the year.

He also registered 20 touchbacks on 62 kickoffs.

TCU opens the 2019 season at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs will travel to West Lafayette on Sept. 14 to take on Purdue.
