Scott Van Pelt makes pick against the spread in B1G Championship Game
Scott Van Pelt has shared his pick for Saturday’s Big Ten title game between Oregon and Penn State.
Van Pelt made his pick known on his weekly “Winners’ segment on SportsCenter on Thursday. He’s going with Penn State +3.5 this weekend, fading the Ducks in their first-ever Big Ten Championship Game.
“Penn State got a little unexpected help from Michigan that provided them an on-ramp to Indy,” Van Pelt said. “They have fallen short against the very best teams, but we like this matchup for the Nittany Lions.”
Van Pelt is 2-4 all-time in ‘Winners’ when picking the Big Ten Championship Game, according to ESPN.
Van Pelt picked all underdogs on conference championship weekend, which is his typical approach in this segment. Van Pelt’s overall record in ‘Winners’ this year stands at 58-51-2.
This will be the first meeting this season between Penn State and Oregon. The Ducks are 12-0 entering this game while the Nittany Lions are 11-1. Their only loss in 2024 came at home to Ohio State earlier this year.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night in Indianapolis.
