A Vanderbilt basketball player has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal just 3 games into the season. Multiple outlets confirmed the news, including Robbie Weinstein of 247Sports.

Peyton Daniels, a freshman guard, has entered his name into the portal. He had played in all 3 games and was averaging 12.7 minutes per contest.

In 3 games, Daniels scored 9 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished 4 assists. The Commodores are 2-1 on the season, and the news comes after a 48-37 loss to VCU.

Daniels, an Atlanta native, was a 3-star member of the 2021 recruiting class. A 6-foot-2 combo guard, Daniels was ranked as the No. 11 player out of Georgia and was a Top 200 prospect for the cycle.

Among combo guards, Daniels ranked No. 11, per 247Sports.

Daniels held 8 offers as a high school prospect. He picked Vanderbilt over Alabama, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, James Madison, Ole Miss and Winthrop.

Vandy is back on the floor on Saturday, hosting Winthrop.
