SEC releases statement following classless actions from Tennessee fans during Ole Miss game
The SEC saw what everyone else saw on Saturday night during the Tennessee-Ole Miss game.
Vols fans threw objects onto the field towards the late stages of the game as the Rebels were getting set to win. A golf ball was even thrown in the direction of head coach Lane Kiffin as he was walking back to his sideline.

The game even entered a 20-minute delay as everything had to be cleaned off the field and part of the stands had to be vacated.
“The Conference has established expectations for behavior and sportsmanship, and the actions of fans at Saturday night’s game were unacceptable under any circumstances,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Stankey. “We are accustomed to intense competition every week, but under no circumstances is it acceptable to endanger the contest participants and disrupt the game. We will review existing Conference policies and the Commissioner’s authority to impose penalties and communicate with the leadership at the University of Tennessee – and all of the SEC’s member universities – to make certain this situation is not repeated.”

If there are penalties coming, they could be announced as early as this week after the conference communicates with the school.
With this loss, Tennessee dropped to 4-3, while Ole Miss got to 5-1.
