The B1G is going to be home to some of the most meaningful matchups in college football this season. With five teams expected to be ranked in the preseason top 25 next week, there are going to be some important stakes on the line nearly every week.

After reviewing the 2018 schedule, it became pretty evident that there isn’t a weekend without some kind of marquee matchup. Some games will obviously carry more weight than others, but the B1G is going to have that “must-watch” matchup every single weekend.

We did the dirty work, sifting through the schedule and picking out the top game each and every Saturday for the 13-week season. Spoiler alert: a lot of B1G East matchups made the list.

So which games should you program into your DVR right now? We’ve got your weekly guide.

Week 1: Michigan vs. Notre Dame

The two teams haven’t played since 2014. It doesn’t get any better than a renewed rivalry to kickoff the season.

Week 2: Colorado vs. Nebraska

Colorado and Nebraska haven’t squared off since Nebraska joined the B1G. This should be a fun matchup of two former Big XII rivals.

Week 3: Ohio State vs. TCU

College Football Playoff implications in mid-September. Expect plenty of offense in this one.

Week 4: Wisconsin vs. Iowa

The Hawkeyes have pulled off major upsets in Kinnick Stadium each of the last two season. Could Wisconsin be the next power to fall in Iowa City?

Week 5: Ohio State vs. Penn State

The winner of Ohio State-Penn State has gone on to win the B1G each of the last two seasons. Beaver Stadium will be rocking.

Week 6: Northwestern vs. Michigan State

Northwestern tends to enter these contests as the underdog. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Wildcats gave the Spartans a run for their money.

Week 7: Wisconsin vs. Michigan

If you love classic, smash-mouth, defensive-minded football, this is going to be the game to watch. Two elite defenses going head-to-head in the middle of the season.

Week 8: Michigan vs. Michigan State

A pivotal game for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines. The winner gets a leg up in the B1G East.

Week 9: Iowa vs. Penn State

You can never count out Iowa, even if it’s away from Kinnick. Keep an eye on the quarterback battle between Nate Stanley and Trace McSorley.

Week 10: Penn State vs. Michigan

Michigan dominated two years ago. Penn State dominated last year. Maybe 2018 will provide us with a more exciting rendition of this matchup.

Week 11: Ohio State vs. Michigan State

This late in the season, the meeting between Ohio State and Michigan State will undoubtedly have B1G Championship and College Football Playoff implications hanging in the balance.

Week 12: Michigan State vs. Nebraska

Don’t be surprised if the Huskers are trending upward as the season goes on. This could be a huge opportunity for Scott Frost to post an upset win in Year 1.

Week 13: Michigan vs. Ohio State

The Game. It’s the ultimate test for Jim Harbaugh. Will he finally knock off the Buckeyes or will he stumble to 0-4 against Ohio State?
