If you’re searching for predictions galore, the most recent release by Sports Illustrated might be the stop.

A group of Sports Illustrated writers recently sat down and hashed out some of the conversations that everyone is talking about as the college football season rapidly approaches. Andy Staples, Bruce Feldman, Eric Single, Joan Niesen and Chris Johnson debated New Year’s Six bowl matchups, Heisman winners, national champions and even which team will be the biggest disappointment.

It really was a buffet of predictions, and the B1G had plenty of mentions. But since there are so many predictions, we’ll just give you the lite version:

  • Feldman predicted Ohio State to win the national championship
  • In the category “biggest surprise team” for 2017, no writer selected a B1G team
  • Niesen and Johnson predicted that Michigan would be the most disappointing team in the country this fall
  • Everyone but Johnson had three B1G teams playing in a New Year’s Six Bowl game
  • Feldman and Niesen both picked Saquon Barkley to win the Heisman Trophy
  • Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee has Feldman’s attention and is expected to be the biggest breakout star in 2017

There were plenty of other predictions that are of note and include B1G teams or players.

This is exactly the type of prediction list that gets everyone hyped up for the start of college football.
