Terrance Ferguson leads all NFL Combine TEs in key athleticism measures
Terrance Ferguson is at the NFL Combine this week to show what he can do. When his time came on Friday, the Oregon product delivered one of the key performances from the tight end group.
In the 40-yard dash, Ferguson ran a 4.63 40-yard dash in his 2nd attempt, setting the best mark from the TE group on the field. He also led the group with an impressive 39″ vertical leap and a top speed of 21.83 MPH during his 40-yard dash.

Only one other TE (South Carolina’s Joshua Simon) cracked 36″ on their vertical. After measuring in at 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, Ferguson generated an athleticism score of 82, the 2nd-best mark of all TEs at the combine (84 by Alabama’s CJ Dippre).
While some of the top TEs available such as Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren did not participate in the drills, Ferguson shined alongside other key prospects such as Gunnar Helm, Oronde Gadsden II and Harold Fannin Jr. The production of those other players may trump Ferguson’s numbers with the Ducks, but it shows his physical tools stack up favorably against some of the other key prospects in this year’s draft.
Ferguson wrapped up his Oregon career this season, finishing with over 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns in 53 career appearances for the Ducks. He was a key weapon this year with 591 receiving yards as Oregon went 13-0 in the regular season to capture the Big Ten title.
