Texas A&M has suspended wide receiver Demond Demas following an arrest on alleged assault charges. He is not currently with the football program.
The Houston Chronicle reported that Demas was arrested on a family violence assault charge on Saturday. The alleged victim was Demas’ girlfriend, according to the report.
From the report:
“The defendant (Demas) pushed her head into the wall. Then she bit him on the shoulder. (She) reported that the defendant then grabbed her and threw her from off of the bed onto the floor, which caused her top front teeth to go through her bottom lip.”
Demas and the victim have reportedly been a relationship for over a year.
This is the second time Demas has allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute. In 2020, he was accused of hitting a woman who claimed to be his girlfriend at the time.
Demas was a redshirt freshman for the Aggies in 2021. He caught 15 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown.
