Texas State hoops celebrated first Sun Belt title in unique fashion
Texas State hoops captured the program’s first-ever regular-season Sun Belt title Friday evening and followed the game with a unique celebration.
By now, we have seen a host of oddities in the world of athletics as teams continue to play throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bobcats produced another unusual and unique moment after their win.
Texas State was playing Friday’s game without head coach Terrence Johnson due to COVID-19 procedures. Even without their head coach, the Bobcats took down Louisiana Monroe to clinch their first Sun Belt title since joining the conference in 2013.
After the game, the team was able to have a special celebration with Johnson who was outside the arena in his car. Check it out:
There were a ton of good moments to post, but none greater than this one. Shoutout to our leader @tjjohnson1010! #ComebackStrong #EatEmUp😼 pic.twitter.com/b30qeG4Bl8

That’s about as cool as it gets in terms of social-distanced celebrations this year. Congratulations to coach Johnson and the Bobcats on their conference title.
