Tez Johnson ruled out for remainder of Michigan game with apparent upper-body injury
Tez Johnson has been ruled out for the remainder of the Michigan game with an apparent upper-body injury that looks to be, more specifically, a possible collarbone or shoulder injury. Johnson went into the injury tent early in the first quarter with Oregon’s trainers and later walked out while clutching his shoulder.
This marks a major loss for the Oregon offense, which got out to a hot start on the first drive of the game as they took a 7-0 lead. Since then, the Ducks have dominated the Wolverines with Dillon Gabriel still delivering efficient numbers.
Head coach Dan Lanning did not provide a comment on the CBS broadcast on Johnson’s status or what the future could look like after the receiver underwent an X-ray. Johnson will miss at least this game, with more details about his status to come later on. For now, he will watch the rest of the game from the sidelines in street clothes.
Johnson came into this contest with 63 receptions for 638 yards with 8 touchdowns and has been Oregon’s most productive receiver by a wide margin. How he is able to build upon that and just how soon he will get the opportunity to return will be something to keep an eye on.
Oregon has rolled on without Johnson in the fold, currently leading Michigan 28-10 at the half.
