The state that each B1G team has recruited the best this cycle
Recruiting has become a healthy mix of science and sales. There’s almost a formulaic approach every coach has when trying to build a strong class.
A lot of that has to do with the areas coaches are recruiting these days. It’s not just about recruiting your home state well, constructing a good class forces coaches to recruit different locations and regions across the country.
In the B1G, some coaches like to get a majority of their recruits from the Midwest. Some want to keep as many in-state as possible. Others want to venture do other regions of the country to poach talent away from other conferences, typically to fit a particular scheme.
Whatever the case, every coach has his own unique approach to recruiting. So that got us thinking, which states do B1G coaches prefer to recruit the most? While several got a majority of their commitments (so far) from in-state talent, a few others ventured elsewhere to build up their classes.
