Three former B1G stars make Pro Football Focus 'Top Rookies' list
This has been a good week for B1G football.
For the first time in 56 years, the conference had four teams in the Associated Press top 10 poll. That alone was a pretty remarkable accomplishment. The accolades keep pouring in this week, though.
On Tuesday, Pro Football Focus released its weekly “Top 10 NFL Rookies,” list as the league enters the sixth week of the season. once again, the B1G was well-represented in a top-1o list.
Three former conference stars, Jack Conklin (Michigan State), Ezekiel Elliott (Ohio State) and Joey Bose (Ohio State) all made the list. Conklin was the highest rated player of the bunch, coming in at No. 4.
Pro Football Focus said of the right tackle:
Jack Conklin finally started to show those pass-protection flaws that everyone was worried about coming out of Michigan State. Against Cameron Wake, the Tennessee right tackle couldn’t quite adjust to his speed, resulting in Conklin’s lowest grade of the season, albeit still only slightly-below average. For the year, Conklin is the third-highest graded right tackle in the NFL.
The B1G was tied with the SEC for the most rookies to make the list. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was ranked No. 2.
