Tim Walz, VP candidate, to attend Big Ten football game Saturday
Tim Walz isn’t just a candidate to be the next vice president of the United States.
He’s a real Midwestern football guy. The Minnesota governor was once a high school football coach, he’s a noted Minnesota Vikings fan, and on Saturday afternoon Walz will be at the Big House as Minnesota faces No. 12 Michigan in a Big Ten battle.
As the Golden Gophers and Wolverines play for the traditional Little Brown Jug trophy, Walz will be in attendance in the noon ET game on FOX.

Walz won’t just be there to watch the game though. The 60-year-old who is actually a native of Nebraska will reportedly be speaking with students about the power of their vote and the importance of registering to vote in the Nov. 5 election.
But, of course, Walz will also be there to watch some football, a sport he is deeply passionate about. His time as a high school coach has been well documented, and he’s also not shy about showing his support for his home-state Vikings.
During Vikings training camp last summer, Walz joined Paul Allen, the longtime radio voice of the team, to talk all things Minnesota Vikings.
On Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor, he’ll be all about Big Ten college football.
