The matchup is set to determine the FCS National Championship!

On Saturday, the FCS featured two semifinal games with the final set for next Sunday, May 16. Both games provided some action, though one was much closer than the other.

In the first game of the day, top overall see South Dakota State steamrolled the Delaware Blue Hens. Behind a balanced attack, the Jackrabbits built a 27-3 halftime lead and cruised to a 33-3 victory over Delaware.

Mark Gronowski threw for two touchdowns for SDSU while running back Pierre Strong Jr. rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown with another touchdown throwing the ball. Meanwhile, Delaware’s offense never found a groove with the Jackrabbits holding the Blue Hens to 68 yards rushing on 45 carries.

In the second game, No. 2 overall seed Sam Houston State staged a dramatic second-half rally against No. 3 seed James Madison. Despite a 24-3 halftime deficit, the Bearkats rallied by outscoring the Dukes 28-3 in the third quarter. JMU had a chance to tie late, but a missed field goal and personal foul penalty on a fourth-down play ended the game.

Wide receivers were some of the stars of this game with Jequez Ezzard leading Sam Houston with four catches for 107 yards and a touchdown. Antwane Wells Jr. led the Dukes with seven catches for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Those results set up a national championship showdown between South Dakota State and Sam Houston State next Sunday:
