There is arguably no draft prospect more polarizing this offseason than Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

When it comes to Fields, analysts are all over the spectrum on his projection to the NFL. Some believe he is a future franchise cornerstone and one of the best prospects at the position in this class while other analysts have been especially critical of Fields’ work and overall standing in the QB group of April’s NFL Draft.

On Todd McShay’s latest mock draft for ESPN (full mock draft requires an ESPN+ subscription), he has Fields has the third quarterback taken in the draft. However, that is not really a knock as he has Fields being the third overall player selected in the draft behind Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence and BYU QB Zach Wilson.

McShay also has the Carolina Panthers jumping up from No. 8 to select Fields at No. 3 with the Miami Dolphins trading out of the slot. That would likely indicate Miami intends to roll the dice and try to develop former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Here are the other B1G stars selected in the first round of McShay’s mock draft:

  • No. 13 Los Angeles Chargers – Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern
  • No. 14 Minnesota Vikings – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan
  • No. 15 New England Patriots – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
