5 B1G teams land on 247Sports’ updated Top 25 rankings for 2021 season

Now that National Signing Day is behind us, 247Sports went through the process of reranking its Top 25 for the 2021 college football season. Obviously, there’s still a lot of time between now and kickoff, so there could still be several changes moving forward.
With incoming recruiting classes now a factor, the website updated its rankings and five B1G teams were included in the Top 25, with two others receiving votes. Ohio State was the highest-ranked team for the B1G, coming in at No. 4.
Here’s a look at 247Sports’ Top 5:
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Oklahoma Sooners
- Clemson Tigers
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Georgia Bulldogs
Four other teams were included in the updated rankings, though they were all outside the Top 10. Here’s where 247Sports is ranking Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Penn State in the updated poll:
- No. 15: Wisconsin
- No. 16: Indiana
- No. 17: Iowa
- No. 19: Penn State
B1G West defending champion Northwestern is omitted from the Top 25, though it did receive votes to make the rankings. Michigan also received some votes, despite a 2-4 campaign in 2020.
