Trio of B1G QBs receive top PFF grades from Week 1
There were 3 B1G quarterbacks who received high grades from Pro Football Focus after Week 1.
The 3 quarterbacks were Minnesota’s Tanner Morgan, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud, and Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz. The 3 quarterbacks had great games in Week 1 and will look to carry over that success in Week 2.

Pro Football Focus gave Morgan the highest mark of the 3 quarterbacks:
- Tanner Morgan: 86.6
- CJ Stroud: 83.1
- Graham Mertz: 81.4
Minnesota shutout New Mexico State, 38-0. In the blowout win, Morgan passed for 174 yards and he completed 13 of 19 passes.
In Ohio State’s win over Notre Dame, Stroud threw for 2 touchdowns and 223 yards. This was a game played on a big stage and Stroud delivered a big performance for Ohio State.
For Mertz, he stepped up in Wisconsin’s season opener. Mertz passed for 219 yards and 1 touchdown. He completed 14 passes on 16 attempts against Illinois State.
In Week 2, Minnesota will host Western Illinois at 12 p.m. ET., Ohio State welcomes Arkansas State into Columbus at 12 p.m. ET., and Wisconsin starts Week 2 against Washington State at 3:30 p.m. ET.
