Troy Aikman makes appearance to support Deion Sanders during his college coaching debut
Deion Sanders made his college coaching debut with Jackson State on Sunday, and one of his former Hall of Fame teammates was there to support him.
Legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman made an appearance in Jackson and was around pre-game during warmups. Aikman and Sanders were teammates on the Cowboys from 1995-99.

Aikman also talked with a local TV station and said he “couldn’t be more proud of Deion.”
“I think he’ll be terrific,” Aikman said when asked what kind of a coach he expects Sanders to be. “I think a lot of people see Deion, he’s certainly charismatic, he’s got a lot of personality. And yet, I think at his core, he’s an old school guy with old school principles.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him, what he has meant to me, and I just think the world of him. When I found out they were playing this game in the spring and I was going to be able to make it, I said there’s no way I’m not going to be here in Jackson.”

Things are off to a good start for Sanders, as his team has a 24-0 lead just moments before halftime vs. Edward Waters.
