Two B1G programs have been listed among the top schools in consideration for one of the nation’s top tight ends in the 2022 recruiting class.

Oscar Delp, ranked as the No. 10 tight end in his class per 247Sports, released a list of his Top 13. Michigan and Northwestern were the two B1G programs that are still receiving consideration, along with 11 other teams. The squads the Wolverines and Wildcats are competing with for Delp’s commitment are Clemson, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Florida, Stanford, USC, Alabama, Oklahoma, Auburn and South Carolina.

Delp released his Top 13 on Twitter. He confirmed that his recruitment is still open at this time. The 4-star tight end essentially trimmed his list in half, receiving 29 offers on the recruiting trail so far.

A 4-star tight end, Delp is a native of Cumming, Georgia. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect is listed as one of the Top 250 players in the 2022 cycle, coming in at No. 236 overall. He’s also listed as the No. 25 player from Georgia.

Delp had a strong 2020 campaign at West Forsyth High School, showing off versatility throughout the season. He played tight end, wide receiver and also played a few defensive snaps last fall. His stat line as a pass-catcher was impressive, totaling 730 yards and 9 touchdowns on 43 receptions.

Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class is off to a strong start, having five verbal pledges. Northwestern does not have any commitments yet.
