A pair of B1G programs are still firmly in the mix for one of the nation’s top wide receivers in the 2023 recruiting class.

Hykeem Williams, a 4-star wide receiver out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., released his list of Top 8 programs this week. Two B1G teams made the cut: Ohio State and Rutgers. The other 6 schools are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M and USC.

Per 247Sports, Williams ranks as the No. 59 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He’s also ranked as the No. 10 receiver and the No. 11 prospect out of Florida.

During Williams’ 2021 season at Stranahan High School, he caught 31 passes for 693 yards and 6 touchdowns. Below are some of the highlights from the elite receiver:

Williams is such a highly-targeted prospect on the recruiting trail that he’s received 33 offers so far. That number could even increase as coaches turn their attention to the 2023 cycle.

Ohio State has been known to land pledges from the best wide receivers in the country and develop them into NFL talent. Rutgers doesn’t have that same prestige, but Greg Schiano has proven capable of recruiting at a high level.

It’ll be interesting to see if the 4-star receiver lands in the B1G with the Buckeyes or Scarlet Knights.
