The two running backs have been the talk of the B1G this season. Barkley’s athleticism and ability to produce in multiple capacities has been praised all year long. Taylor, a freshman, is one of just two running backs in the B1G to have over 1,000 rushing yards after 10 games.
Barkley has racked up 1,846 all-purpose yards this season, the most of any B1G player. As a running back he’s toted the ball for 899 yards thus far. He’s also accounted for 17 total touchdowns and has scored as a running back, receiver, quarterback and return specialist.
Taylor has been phenomenal in his freshman season, racking up 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns, both are conference highs.
The list of 15 semifinalists will be trimmed to five finalists after the final week of the regular season. A winner will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 7.
