It’s that time of year.
The final College Football Playoff rankings were revealed Sunday afternoon and Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Oklahoma are the only teams truly feeling untouchable. Sure, being in the Top 10 or Top 25 is great, but it’s nothing compared to being in the Top 4.
UCF, for the second straight year, went undefeated. One would imagine that going unbeaten would be enough to impress the committee to put the Golden Knights in the Top 4, but that — once again — was not the case.
Two straight undefeated seasons, two straight seasons of not making the playoff.
Here’s UCF athletic director Danny White with his thoughts:
It’s not a playoff. It’s an invitational. I’m excited to see what invitational we get to be a part of, and once again show what our team is capable of, ON THE FIELD! Proud of our team. Can’t wait to go bowling with #KnightNation!!!

Not a lot of love for the system coming from UCF.
Understandably so.
