Two more B1G teams clinched bowl eligibility on Saturday, moving the conference’s total to six teams that’ll reach the postseason.
Michigan State posted a 24-3 win over Maryland and Wisconsin defeated Rutgers 31-17, meaning both teams improved to 6-3 on the season. The Spartans and Badgers became the fifth and sixth teams to guarantee a spot in the postseason.
Here’s the list of B1G bowl eligible teams through Week 10:
- Michigan (8-1)
- Ohio State (8-1)
- Iowa (6-3)
- Penn State (6-3)
- Michigan State (6-3)
- Wisconsin (6-3)
Three additional teams — Maryland, Northwestern and Purdue — all sit with 5-4 records on the season. One more victory for each team will bump them into bowl eligibility.
On the other end of the spectrum, Nebraska becomes the second team in the B1G to be eliminated from bowl consideration. After a 36-31 loss to Ohio State, the Huskers fell to 2-7 on the season and are unable to reach the all-important six-win mark.
No B1G teams can be eliminated from bowl contention next week.
