The number of Heisman contenders is dwindling. With just two weeks left in the regular season and a weekend of conference championship games, there are only a handful of individuals in the mix for college football’s most prestigious award.
Following Week 12 action, the odds for the Heisman Trophy have been updated, and two B1G players are still in consideration. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields are both in the mix heading down the stretch.
The three other names are LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Here’s a look at the updated odds according to FanDuel Sportsbook:
- Joe Burrow, QB, LSU — (-800)
- Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State — (+700)
- Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma — (+1600)
- Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin — (+10,000)
- Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson — (+10,000)
Burrow took a major lead after LSU’s big win over Alabama, but Fields may get a chance to prove himself over the next three weeks, with the Buckeyes battling Penn State, Michigan and potentially playing in the B1G Championship Game at season’s end.
