Can Purdue play the Spoilermaker role for the 3rd time this season? They are on the road today against No. 5 Ohio State.

This morning ESPN’s College GameDay crew weighed in on the game between the Buckeyes and the Boilermakers.

Kirk Herbstreit believes that the Boilermakers can exploit some of the Buckeyes’ weaknesses, especially in the secondary.

“I think the way Aidan O’Connell comes in — 3 of the last 4 he’s playing with confidence,” said Herbstreit. “He’s got one of the best receivers you’ll see in the B1G in David Bell. Ohio State’s secondary is improving but prone to giving up yardage. Will they be able to squeeze themselves in the red zone? Because of Jeff Brohm’s scheme and Aidan O’Connell’s ability to throw, they will move the ball on Ohio State.”

Herbstreit does believe the Buckeyes will not get caught napping against an upset-minded Purdue squad.

“I think Ohio State shows up and plays very, very well,” said Herbstreit. “I like Ohio State to win the game.”

Desmond Howard also believes that the Buckeyes will come away with the victory and that RB TreVeyon Henderson will be a big reason why.

“I like Ohio State to win the game,” said Howard. “I think TreVeyon Henderson is going to be the difference-maker. … I think that’s going to be the recipe for success for the Buckeyes today.”

Ohio State hosts Purdue at 3:30 ET on ABC.
