Urban Meyer doesn’t appear to know Arkansas head coach, but proceeds to call Razorbacks 10-win program

Urban Meyer might want to stick to analyzing the Big Ten.

While appearing on ESPN Arkansas, Meyer called Arkansas a 10-win program, but he also had to double check with the show’s host to ensure Chad Morris was indeed the Razorbacks head coach.

“It’s Chad Morris, right?” Meyer asks in the middle of his guest segment.

Meyer also seems to be speculating that Arkansas might be having trouble becoming a 10-win program again because the Razorbacks “have to play South Carolina and Gainesville,” but that can’t be the case because Arkansas doesn’t play South Carolina or Florida (the school in Gainesville) on a yearly basis.

Yes, that part of Meyer’s interview with ESPN Arkansas was truly cringeworthy. Check it out:

Maybe Meyer remembers how the schedule worked for Arkansas back before the SEC expanded to 14 teams. During Meyer’s six years at Florida, Arkansas did play the Gators three times, but now the schedule is set up for the Gators and Razorbacks to only meet once every six years.

If that was Meyer’s worst comment with this particular response, we could let it slide, but it’s inexcusable for an analyst not to be 100 percent sure of the coach’s name.
