FOX college football analyst Urban Meyer released his head coaches and coordinators of the week on Thursday via Twitter. They had very much a Big Ten feel to them.

Meyer’s list included two Big Ten coaches and a coordinator. Those included Meyer’s No. 1 coach of the week: Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker.

As Meyer mentions in the video, Tucker earned the top coaching spot after going on the road and leading the Spartans to a win over Michigan in the Big House in Week 2. It was his first win as the Michigan State head coach and he became the first Spartan head coach since Nick Saban to win his first matchup against Michigan.

Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald was the No. 3 coach on the list. He has the Wildcats off to a 2-0 start and that included Saturday’s road victory against Iowa. It was win No. 101 for Fitzgerald.

As for coordinators, the Big Ten got the top spot again. This time it was Scottie Montgomery, the offensive coordinator for Maryland. His Terps offense picked up nearly 700 total yards of offense in the overtime victory against Minnesota.
