Urban Meyer revealed that Ohio State could be on upset alert against Maryland on Saturday.

Ohio State has 1 more game before the massive rivalry showdown with Michigan in Week 13. Meyer believed that this could be a trap game for the Buckeyes.

On the latest episode of Big Noon Kickoff, Meyer explained what Ohio State will need to do to avoid an upset on the road:

“If Ohio State comes out and stumbles around a little bit, Maryland is good enough to be in that game,” Meyer said. “That might turn into a track meet. I remember a couple of years ago, we were caught in a track meet in College Park. That’s miserable.”

The game that Meyer referenced was Ohio State’s meeting with Maryland in 2018. It was a similar scenario with Ohio State awaiting an important meeting the following week against Michigan. Ohio State survived with a 52-51 win over Maryland in overtime.

Ohio State will need to remain undefeated the rest of the way to ensure a bid in the College Football Playoff. Maryland is looking to snap a 2-game losing streak in Week 12. Last week, Maryland was shutout against Penn State in a 30-0 loss.

Ohio State will be on the road against Maryland at 3:30 p.m. ET.
