The B1G is getting some elite talent in 2017. Only time will tell, but the bevy of top-flight recruits coming to the conference are as deep as ever.

Perhaps it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise that the B1G had four commits crack USA Today’s All-USA Defense teams.

Ohio State commit Shaun Wade, who just reaffirmed his Buckeye pledge a couple weeks ago, led the way as the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year. The future Buckeye cornerback racked up 63 tackles and seven interceptions en route to Trinity Christian’s fourth consecutive Florida state title.

He wasn’t the only five-star Ohio State defender who got national recognition. The Buckeyes’ top-rated 2017 pledge, linebacker Baron Browning, was named to the All-USA second-team. He was joined by fellow five-star Ohio State commit, Chase Young.

The Buckeyes weren’t the only B1G team represented. Also on the All-USA second-team was five-star Iowa commit A.J. Epenesa, who racked up 14 tackles for loss in his senior season.

There were also plenty of B1G targets on both teams. Darnay Holmes (Ohio State, Nebraska), Aubrey Solomon (Michigan), Bubba Bolden (Ohio State), Joshua Kaindoh (Maryland, Penn State), Jeffrey Okudah (Ohio State) and Marvin Wilson (Ohio State) all made the cut.

Ohio State commit Tate Martell already earned the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award last week. He and other future B1G players could be next when the offensive teams are announced.
