A total of 10 B1G players made USA Today’s All-America teams. That wasn’t much of a surprise.

What was a surprise was some of the guys who got the nod weren’t on anyone’s radar in the preseason. The former Division III player Ryan Ramczyk made the cut, as did former walk-on Austin Carr. Even a guy like Iowa’s Sean Welsh got All-America accolades from USA Today.

The household names like Jabrill Peppers and Desmond King made the list, too. In total, there were five B1G defenders, four offensive players and one specialist who made the cut.

Surprisingly, however, players like Jourdan Lewis and T.J. Watt didn’t make the list.
