There are a lot of opinions about where the USC football program stands right now. One thing is for sure, it’s nowhere close to the powerhouse it used to be, especially during the Pete Carroll era.

One USC mega-booster had quite the comment about where the Trojans are as a program currently.

Saturday night, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron was accepting the 2019 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award, as presented by the Football Writers Association of America. In attendance was USC booster Brian Kennedy.

Kennedy, who is a huge supporter of Orgeron, spoke with a small group of reporters after the ceremony, including @RedditCFB. After talking about the LSU head coach for a little bit, Kennedy was asked about how he views the USC football program.

It wasn’t a pleasant comment.

“Dogshit,” Kennedy said. “That’s the best way I can say it. Listen, they had the best guy in the world for it.”

Kennedy was referring to Orgeron being denied the opportunity in 2013, after serving as the interim head coach for eight games in 2013. Orgeron took over for Lane Kiffin, who was fired following a 3-2 start to the season.

Orgeron was hoping to earn the job after finishing with a 6-2 mark, which included a 6-1 record against Pac-12 opponents. Instead, the program hired Steve Sarkisian.

Current head coach Clay Helton was thought to be on the hot seat this season, but appears to be safe for at least another year. One more mediocre year from the Trojans, though, and USC might be looking for another head coach.
