It’s Rivalry Week in the Big Ten.

We’ve got The Game in Ann Arbor, the battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe (and the Big Ten West crown) in Minneapolis, the Heroes Game in Lincoln, and a game for the Old Oaken Bucket in West Lafayette.

Lots will be up for grabs this Thanksgiving weekend. Vegas, via Circa Sports, released the opening lines for all the action on Sunday.

  • Iowa vs. Nebraska (-4)
  • Ohio State (-7) vs. Michigan
  • Maryland (-1) vs. Rutgers
  • Indiana vs. Purdue (-15)
  • Northwestern vs. Illinois (-4)
  • Wisconsin (-7) vs. Minnesota
  • Penn State (-1) vs. Michigan State

The Hawkeyes are a surprise road dog against the Huskers despite being a 9-2 side going up against a 3-8 side. Iowa is looking to stay in contention for the Big Ten West title, but it’ll need a win on Black Friday and a Wisconsin loss.

The other big surprise in the bunch was the Ohio State-Michigan line. The Buckeyes were a near-3-score favorite over Michigan State last week in what was a matchup of top 10 teams. Vegas, as it turned out, wasn’t giving enough credit to the Buckeyes, who rolled to a 56-7 win over Michigan State.

Michigan is just a 7-point underdog at home. With the Buckeye offense buzz-sawing its way through the rest of the league, some were surprised by the line. Michigan hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 2011, and 5 of the last 6 games have been decided by double-digits.

Wisconsin-Minnesota is the other game of major interest on the Big Ten schedule. The Badgers win the West if they win. If the Gophers pull the upset, they’d need a Nebraska win and an Indiana win to secure the West.

Maryland and Rutgers will be a battle of 5-6 teams looking to go bowling. The Scarlet Knights haven’t been to a bowl game since 2014. Maryland hasn’t gone since 2016.
